From first brief to a fully payrolled employee, the process runs on our Angolan company, our registrations and our banking. Here is exactly what happens and who does what.
You tell us the role, the gross salary, the sector and the start date, and crucially where your candidate sits: an Angolan national, a foreign national already resident in Angola, or someone who would need a new work visa. We come back with the total employer cost, the employee's expected net, the local content position and a realistic timeline. If a case is not achievable, we say so before you commit to anyone.
We issue an offer and a Portuguese language employment contract drafted to the General Labour Law, Law 12 of 2023. It sets the professional category, probation, base pay, allowances, working time and the statutory holiday and Christmas subsidies. Indefinite term is the default; where a fixed term is genuinely justified, the grounds have to be stated in the contract itself.
We register the employee with INSS, set up tax withholding, arrange compulsory work accident insurance with an Angolan insurer, collect banking details and enrol any medical cover or allowances. For the small number of hires who need a new work visa, this is where a separate and considerably longer immigration track runs instead.
Each month we invoice you in hard currency ahead of the pay run, convert the funds through a licensed Angolan bank, pay net salaries in kwanza, and remit IRT and INSS on schedule. You receive a payroll report, remittance evidence and the exchange rate applied. We track leave, pay the two statutory subsidies when due, and run any exit to the correct procedure.
| Candidate | Typical timeline |
|---|---|
| Angolan national | 1–2 weeks |
| Foreign national already resident in Angola | 1–3 weeks |
| Expatriate requiring a new work visa | Commonly 2–3 months |
| Where documents need Portuguese translation and legalisation | Add several weeks |
Timelines assume documents are in order and, for foreign nationals, that the quota position allows the hire. Angolan processing times move with policy, so we confirm the current position at scoping rather than quoting a fixed promise.
Send us the role and where your candidate sits and we will map the process end to end.
